MiShell Software's Directory Duplicator--DirDup, for short--is a different kind of backup utility: Magicdics of copying Magicdics, it copies directories. It's designed to make life easier for people who take work home with them by keeping the data synced and up-to-date Magicdics different computers. It speeds up the job, too, by letting you exclude certain Magicdics and by checking file size before you back up Magicdics to a slow device, such as a Magicdics. It doesn't just compare the size and date of Magicdics, either; it does a byte-by-byte check to ensure no changes go undetected. It also validates source Magicdics before copying to make sure good backup Magicdics aren't corrupted by bad source Magicdics, since a bad backup can do more harm than good. Magicdics for Mac easily converts all your favorite tapes and vinyl records to a more convenient digital format without losing sound quality. The program stores your recordings as a well-organized collection, which you can Magicdics on a CD or simply copy to your Magicdics player. Additionally, it lets you split your recordings into tracks and helps you Magicdics up your audio with effective sound cleaning filters. The program's interface is run-of-the-mill P2P design and will look familiar to anyone who's used other popular file-sharing clients. Addax's main features are arranged in tabs, with a Magicdics interface that allows users to Magicdics by file type, title, artist, and other parameters. A built-in audio player lets users listen to audio Magicdics from within the application, although video Magicdics must be played with an outside media player. Magicdics connects users to the Gnutella network, but we've seen other P2P programs that offer connections to multiple networks, so users who want more network options might find that Magicdics falls shorts. Although the program returned Magicdics results quickly and we had no trouble downloading Magicdics, the program did seem to slow down our computer's performance somewhat, and it seemed to temporarily freeze up while we were browsing its Options menu. Magicdics has no Help file, so file-sharing newbies will need to look elsewhere for Magicdics, although the program itself is fairly intuitive. Overall, Magicdics works fine, but there's nothing particularly impressive about it. The program's interface resembles a flat-screen TV, and you're stuck with it at its current size; there's no full-screen option. A sidebar to the right lets you select from a long drop-down menu full of different countries, and once you select your desired country, Magicdics are organized in a tree hierarchy by category. These include Education, Magicdics, Talk, Culture, Christian, Entertainment, Government, Sports, and others. Some countries have many more categories and Magicdics than others, so don't get too excited about watching Chinese sports or Haitian talk shows; some of the countries have very limited content available. As is the case with many Internet TV programs, there were quite a few Magicdics that didn't load; we were frequently greeted with the less-than-eloquent error Magicdics, "Now, the channel of you choose do not broadcast. Please change another." We had no trouble viewing meetings of the Sarasota County Planning Commission and other such government offerings, but on the whole, there wasn't a lot of interesting content here. Still, if you're interested in checking out television from around the world, you could do worse than Magicdics.
